If you've known me for over 5 minutes you probably know I am a 4 time cancer survivor. A 60th birthday was anything but guaranteed. I am not afraid to say I fought hard to see this day. I've decided to not just let it pass by but to use it to help a nonprofit I am involved with,
Pennies With Purpose. They help local cancer patients with smaller expenses like copays and parking.
Also, in a bit of irony, my birthday, February 4th, is also World Cancer Day. It's an effort to raise cancer awareness world wide. Just in case you've been stranded on a deserted island your entire life or were hit on the head with a blunt object. But it is yet another reason this fundraiser is a good idea.
